Every year, millions of tourists head to Las Vegas with dreams of big parties and even bigger wins. But beneath the bright lights of the strip, there lies a much darker side to America's Sin City. Originally built to protect the desert city from flash floods, the labyrinth of tunnels that run for miles under the City have become home to hundreds of the region’s homeless. Submerged in darkness, the residents of the flood channels have found ways to adapt to the dangerous environment, with complex campsites, community codes of conduct, bartering systems and surprisingly...stunning art.
Join us Under the Strip as we introduce you to a subterranean world and the people that call it home. Over the course of 8 episodes, we’ll follow the lives of 5 residents, each at a different part in their journey. From “The Mayor”, the appointed leader of one of the largest series of tunnels, to “Jennifer” who recently took shelter here after finally finding the courage to leave her abusive partner, we’ll learn how they survive in a community filled with addiction, mental health issues and flash floods - which at any moment - can come raging through the tunnels, stripping them of their belongings, or lives.

EMILY SKYLE
As a News Anchor, Emily loved delivering headlines but quickly learned she enjoyed telling the in-depth stories behind them even more - so she spent the next decade finding her voice on the Chicago stages of Second City and iO. Years of watching her script’s quirky and diverse characters get whitewashed into Hollywood stereotypes prompted her to become a filmmaker. Since then, Emily’s short films have played at top tier festivals around the world. Her most recent film, 10 Syllables, premiered at Cannes as one of seven short narrative finalists in the American Pavilion’s Emerging Filmmaker showcase. Her current film, Three Clicks, is a thriller that stars Oscar nominated and Golden Globe winning talent, Eric Roberts. She’s also excited to return to her roots and is thrilled to be collaborating with some of her comedy heroes on a new mockumentary series that begins shooting in the fall of 2021.
